This project is an invitation. To see the space differently and to think about it.
The city is a collection of infinite data. Visual meaning can provide insights and new relationships to the space around us. There is an inherent need in the city to connect the spaces and the people.
The objective is to be an interesting interruption in city life, providing common content that celebrates the city and it’s spaces and connects them to a greater understanding of the place as much more than a collection of isolated spaces.
Why relate it to the stars?
Originally the stars were used for navigation because they appear to be static in the night sky and always there. In urban areas, particularly New York, landmarks, parks, monuments, buildings are everywhere. They give the city personality.
